COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES OF THE INNOVATIVE DEVELOPMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN: ANALYSIS OF STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES IN THE GLOBAL INNOVATION INDEX

Abstract

We have reviewed the rating list of the Global Innovation Index (GII), including strong and weak indices/sub-indices, in view to determine a feasibility for the Republic of Uzbekistan to enter the list of 50 advanced countries. The research is based on a comparative analysis of the strong and weak indices/sub-indices of 50 leading countries of the GII rating, and indicators pertaining to the Republic of Uzbekistan. The findings prove the fact of competition among 50 advanced countries for high positions in the ranking. The research had revealed a growth of the number of transition economies in this group and made a comparative analysis of those countries.
