ANALYSIS OF THE MAGNETIC FIELD AND THE MAGNITUDE OF THE VERTICAL MOVEMENT OF THE EARTH IN THE AREA OF CROSSING KARJANTAU AND TAVAKSAY FAULTS

Abstract

Certain studies were conducted in our republic on observations of electromagnetic fields, modernization of the predictive monitoring system, and high-precision data before strong earthquakes. Programs for continuous monitoring of the seismicity of territories are being implemented. The study analyses the geomagnetic field and vertical movement of the earth's surface in the zone of intersection of the deep Karzhantau and Tavaksay faults. The results of tacheometric measurements carried out in 2019 at the Tavaksay geodynamic polygon, the results of levelling works that were carried out in 1979, and their comparative analysis are presented. Due to the high accuracy of the applied magnetic survey technique, magnetic anomalies associated with geological structures, discontinuities, etc. were revealed. The applied high-precision total station survey showed a 37-year difference in the vertical movements of points on the territory of the Tavaksay micro-polygon, where the regional Karzhantau and Tavaksay Faults intersect. When processing the data obtained, it was determined that the points "Farm" and "Cemetery" are considered the most mobile points which are located in the Karzhantau fault zone.
