HIGH-QUALITY RAW SILK PRODUCTION: NEW APPROACH

FULL TEXT:

Abstract

The article presents findings of research into occupancy of cocoons with water. It has been found that the occupancy improves when cocoons undergo two-staged processing. Increased demand for the goods made of natural fiber heightens the requirements for the quality of the raw silk. The research findings serve to tackle burning issues of cocooning, which helps to improve such quality indicators as continuously unwound length of cocoon threads and thread breakage, which, in turn, ensures improved productivity, cost reduction and better efficiency. The study principally reveals that raw silk being produced entirely of cocoons ensures the increased output of raw silk and improved indicators of quality, which makes it possible to achieve an economic effect.
