FACTORS FOR ENHANCING THE COMPETITIVENESS OF SECURITIES MARKET: LISTING, MARKET CAPITALIZATION AND CORPORATE GOVERNANCE

Abstract

The issues of enhancing the competitiveness of the domestic securities market are the most important components of the problem of enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy. The research of factors for enhancing the competitiveness of the securities market is relevant in view of active searching for new sources of investing in the national economy and using the stock market potential for this. The aim of the research is to investigate the theoretical and practical aspects of enhancing the competitiveness of the securities market at the present stage of economic development. The aim was achieved by the method of analysis of statistical data of the World Bank regarding the number of listed companies, the market capitalization to GDP ratio in the world countries, and by comparing them with official data in Uzbekistan. As a result of the research, listing, market capitalization and corporate governance were put forward as the main factors for enhancing the competitiveness of the securities market. In order for the listing and corporate governance mechanisms to enhance the competitiveness of the national stock market, the author proposes the necessary legal and organizational measures.
