ENERGY EFFICIENT TECHNOLOGY IN VERTICAL DRAINAGE SYSTEMS

Abstract

The article presents �indings from research into practical application of a jet pump utilizing �low energy in view to improve energy ef�iciency of vertical drains in irrigation and reclamation systems. Increasing demand for electricity and its rising cost nowadays dictate the need for energy ef�icient mechanisms to reduce the energy consumption of pumps used for land reclamation and irrigation. Works on practical application of the jet pump were carried out on vertical drainage in the area of Gulistan city of Syrdarya province, test works were implemented in �ield conditions in the range of hydraulic parameters of water �low rate 0,8-1,6 l/s and the pipeline pressure of 0,5-1,0 atm. Comparative evaluation of results from the �ield and laboratory tests retrieved relationships between relative �low rate and relative head. Their level of accuracy is based on the correlation coef�icient (R2 = 0.91). The paper provides conditions and recommendations for the use of jet pumps in vertical drains.
