METHODOLOGY FOR CALCULATION OF FATIGUE STRENGTH OF LOAD-BEARING STRUCTURES OF SPECIAL SELF-PROPELLED ROLLING STOCK
Abstract
The article discusses statistical and analytical analysis of non-replaceable structural elements of frames along sections. As a result of the analysis of faults carried out on the railcar frame in operation similar locations of defects in the railcar frame that could not be restored, have been identified. To determine the safety factor of the railcar frame, their spatial model was built. Based on a generalized methodology for calculating fatigue strength, the research has proposed a method for estimating the residual life-span of a railcar frame with an expired service life. According to the findings from assessment of the stress state, the research suggested a method for identifying a damage in a railcar frame and increasing the strength of the longitudinal beam of the railcar, as well as the work proposed reducing defects by means of welding cracks and installing reinforcing linings when upgrading the railcar. Based on the research findings, it is considered advisable to introduce this method of repair (restoration and strengthening) for all types of railcars operated in Uzbekistan.
