IGEO INDEX ESTIMATION OF THE DISTRIBUTION OF PARTICLES RELEASED INTO THE ENVIRONMENT AS A RESULT OF BRAKE PAD AND TIRE WEAR
Abstract
This article presents the results of analysis of domestic and foreign researchs to determine the amount of harmful particles emitted due to the wear of brake pads and tires as a result of vehicle operation, related to the coefficient of grip of the wheel with the road. When making calculations, it is necessary to take into account the number of vehicles on a certain road section. Methods for determining the amount of particles emitted into the environment as a result of brake pad and tire wear during vehicle operation, taking into account the coefficient of grip of the wheel with the road, are presented. Considering the fact that the service life of automotive brake pads and tires varies depending on the coefficient of grip of the wheel with the road, the amount of particles that are emitted into the atmosphere is theoretically calculated. The calculations presented in the article were carried out on the example of Jizzakh region. Measures to reduce the distribution of particles emitted into the environment as a result of wear of brake pads and tires of cars at intersections, determined by the IGEO index, are proposed. It is recommended to build highways with asphalt concrete pavement using spent tire rubber granules as a modifier in order to increase the coefficient of grip of wheels with the road at intersections with increased passability
